From January 25, 2022, the large original exhibition, The Costume Culture along the Silk Road, is opened to the public for free at the Special Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Chengdu Museum. In total, there are 186 pieces (sets) of exquisite cultural relics from more than 20 heritage museums of Gansu, Hubei, Shaanxi, and other places. Themed the costume culture along the Silk Road, the exhibition offers visitors an insight into the evolution and development of Chinese costume culture and shows how traditional Chinese clothing has developed its own unique style amid the exchanges with western culture and the ethnic fusion. Thus, it aims to display what artistic achievements the Chinese nation reputed as "the kingdom of costume" has made and how China and western countries have influenced each other and evolved in terms of technology and aesthetics.
