This comic role is the most characteristic inner rod puppet in Shaanxi rod puppetry, i.e., placing the hand rod inside the garment. At about 40 cm tall, it is a typical representative of “petite” rod puppets. With its exaggerated and strange appearance, and movable eyes and mouth, the puppet vividly conveys a sense of humor in addition to a hint of adorability brought by the brightly colored garment.
